Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Going to watch "Burnt" tonight.... Love me a good cooking movie. Apparently Bradley Cooper apprenticed for a month in one of Gordon Ramsay's kitchens. GR is effusing about all the "passion" the film has. Hope it's not too hokey. Redbox cannot decide if it's a comedy or drama.

Tried to watch "A Walk in the Woods" twice... Both times (and separate discs) the Blu-Ray wouldn't read in my machine. >:/ All other Blu-Rays working fine. DH says it's not big loss as he's not a Robert Redford fan. Guess I'll have to wait for it to come out streaming.

My sister had problems with Netflix dvd's not playing well - breaks in the color, sound, etc. She said some looked scratched right out of the box. Think they don't replace the badly used ones. They told her she would be happier getting them elsewhere. Now she rents from Redbox.

Is anyone planning on seeing Allegiant when it hits theaters next month? I saw Insurgent as part of my birthday present in March 2015, but I don't think that I'm going to see Alligiant as part of my birthday present this year. After watching the trailer it looks like they changed the plot so much from the book that I'm not really interested in seeing the movie. :/

I loved Divergent, but I didn't care for Insurgent, it was kind of boring.

Our public library lends out DVDs.  It's a great way to try titles without expense.  If you don't like it, you just take it back. You can find some "gems" that way.

Our small local library does also, free movies. Mostly kids stuff but good. Library is small, small town but part of a tri county library system. If there is a book or movie you want at another big library you can request it online and have it sent to your library and saved for you. I forget this sometimes, should take more advantage of it. There is some books I want to read, just can't afford to buy them, bigger libraries probably have them. Haven't been there in a couple yrs, think I'll make a stop next time they're open and see if I can find some free books. Thanks for posting that.

Has anyone seen "Hail Caesar," it has a rotten tomato score of 77 BUT, moviegoers didn't like it anywhere as much. Guess I should listen to the people. I just need a movie fix really bad. Maybe I can rummage through the $ 5. bin of movies tomorrow and find something.

Anyone else watch 'The 100' on CW?
We don't get CW, watched the first season on Netflix, by time I realized second season was out, Hulu quit playing the first few episodes. ..had to wait forever for Netflix to get second season. Keeping up with it on Hulu now for third season, I don't like watching something missing episodes, hate how Hulu does that on some shows. I'm the type of person who pauses a movie if I have to go to the bathroom or get a drink, wife hates it but I don't want to miss a single second of a movie, one second can be very important. .

My wife and I watched the first two seasons on Netflix. It's an interesting show and we will definitely watch season 3.

That's what I do, too. Reserve heaps of stuff online. It's really handy if they've got something that hasn't been shown on tv, or if you've missed an episode on tv and they've got it.

Quote: Me too, that's why I borrow or buy DVDs. I miss too much watching on the tv. With a dvd you can go back over it so you don't miss anything.
