I don't know about his stage work, but before "Breaking Bad" he played the Dad in "Malcolm in the Middle". He was fabulous in the role. It had some old-fashioned, slapsticky-y comedy and he just delivered as if it was nothing. I think that a lot of actors would be self-conscious in some of the things he had to do. I hadn't known of him before Malcolm but I remember admiring him in that. I don't usually laugh at the TV but some of his "turns" were hilarious. I also noticed him in something the other day. An old movie/tv show, and I recognised him now because I know him from his more recent work. The thing with character actors is that you usually just accept them as their character and don't recognise "the actor".that he was primarily a stage actor prior to 'Breaking Bad'. Truth?
The plot is amazing, and honestly, people say that it's "gross," "violent," and "warped." It isn't.
