Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

but I think Woody Harrelson is a very good actor.
He was excellent in the 3 billboards movie. I haven't seen him much in roles other than when he was in "cheers", so I was surprised at his "dramatic actor chops".
Sonoranchick, I'm the same. I hadn't been to the pictures for ages, but started up again after reading this thread. When people mentions something good, it gives you a bit of a bump to go and see it. It's surprising how many fantastic movies you don't hear about - they don't put ads on tv any more. Drumstick Diva and Sourland go to lots of movies - they have become like my very own Leonard Maltin.

Next weekend hope to see (think it's called) "15:17 to Paris." Three young Americans stop a terrorist attack on the train. True story. The actual heroes are playing themselves.I believe one is a soldier, one National guardsman, and one civilian friend who all worked together.

My memory comes and goes but, I think most of what I wrote is correct. It comes out in our theatres next Friday.

Also hope to see "The Shape of Water," AGAIN!! The theatres bring the Oscar nomineed movies back for everyone to see, if they missed them. I loved Shape.

My brother was mentioning a "fantasy sequence in the movie," which either I totally missed or he is hallucinating. Now I want to go back and check it out.

Today we saw "The 15:17 to Paris". Spencer Stones the first of the Americans to charge the terrorist should have a middle name of 'Big'. This guy has 'stones' so big that it is a miracle he can walk. Good movie with the parts played by the 3 men who lived them. It's a good solid movie especially because of the message it imparts.

I was just reading the review by Dean Richards and he said the performances were very "stiff." I said I didn't want to go BUT NOW, that I've heard from Sour - I'll tell my brother all systems are GO after all. Thank you Sour

Sour you were right on the button re: "15:17 to Paris." The Rotten tomatoes score was 20%. Nuts to them. The movie was very, very good. I didn't think amateurish at all. I don't think professional actors would have made any difference.I'm glad I believed in you - the 20% rating was very off putting . My brother gave it 3.5 stars, I give it 4 out of 4.

They had so many trailers I lost track. I asked my brother if any looked worthy and he said I liked 2 forthcoming movies. If only I could remember what.
