I agree about August: Osage County. Loved the acting. We watched it two nights in a row this past weekend. I brought out memories that I try to keep suppressed. The difference between Vi and my mother is that Vi occasionally apologized after verbally ripping one of her daughters apart. I didn't' think the language was as much of an issue as some people do. I think at least some of it needed to be there. It wouldn't have had the ring of truth without the hateful, vulgar mudslinging. I think I'll watch it again in preparation for Mother's Day. I have made peace with my past and realize that my mother did the best she could raising six girls. She lived what she learned. For us sister's, all but one broke the circle of violence and abuse that we were prone to repeat.Deedee in spite of your evaluation, we went to see "American Hustle". I should have listened to you - I could not 'buy' in to this movie at all. Parts bored the heck out of me, and I was continually aware that it was a 'movie'. Last week we saw "August, Osage County". The movie is a little bit frenetic, but performances are good - especially Roberts and Streep. Good entertainment if dysfunctionality is your thing.![]()
