Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Well just ride with Rebel, and you'll be safe.

LOL, I'm married to the po-po. I don't go anywhere unarmed anymore. I think I know too many of the crime stats for my usual stomping grounds these days(information I'd rather not be privy to). So glad we now live in a place where the routine gunfire is more likely people shooting their dinner. No more ghetto-fireworks on a Friday night!

MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.

So lackluster I had to order an extra shot of espresso in my Starbucks afterwards to jar me out of my bored-to-death near coma. About the best thing about the film (consensus of movie group) was the cute sundresses the girl wore. Unfortunately, they've set it up for sequels.... No. Oh, please, NO!

Thanks for the tip! Nothing more depressing than being bored. And trapped until it's over!
Probably not. Every other car has a gun in it..... In my lifetime I think I can remember one murder in the county an that could be debated as self defense... I dont know of any cases of carjackings or muggings.

Funny thing is they have been several books an documentaries on how bad it is here though. The stories sell to city people I guess..

I love that. I remember when we were still having reno work done on the house. I was telling my DH we needed to get ADT out here to get a security system set up and transfer our account. The plumber overheard us and says "Ma'am. You won't need to bother with wasting money on that. Ain't nobody gonna be breaking in this place because they know every house out here is full of guns and people who know how to use them". Best advice ever!

I'm sure it's true in your case.

But, I feel badly for Chicago & similar places, every house probably does have guns BUT, the gangbangers etc. don't know or care how to aim, everybody gets splattered No apologies or restitution if they wipe out the wrong people. Sadly the majority of residents just want to stay alive and get caught in the cross hairs instead.

Yep. I speak of Atlanta. It's not so great lately, definitely not as bad as Chicago. Yikes. Part of me misses "intown" living, yet I kind of like being able to go to sleep at night with the front door unlocked and windows open. But sadly, Atlanta has the closest drive-in as far as I know.

I may need to do some more searching!

Chicago is as bad as it is cause the laws have disarmed everyone but criminals. Been that way for many years. McDonald v. Chicago in 2010 forced them to remove their gun ban but they were still very restrictive so it was hard for people to arm themselves an take their city back. In 2013, Illinois changed state law an took the ability for Chicago to regulate guns away from them. The people of Chicago are now getting armed an the criminals are getting shot.

NYC an DC are also citys that are so restrictive that in reality guns are banned. If you dont know who Emily Miller is, google Emily gets her gun.

Ta Dah   I saw   "Martian   :thumbsup  :thumbsup   My brother gave it  4.5  out of 4 (and he was a math major)  I would give it the same.  One thing people have to realize before seeing it is -  it's not Interstellar   - It's Matt Damon  stuck alone on Mars and  "sciencing the hell out of it."  It's his story of  survival amid crushing set backs.  Not a lot of  breathtaking photography or black holes or stuff like it.    Kinda like Tom Hanks in Castaway  but, with death menacing at every turn.  I did shed a few tears but, it was probably from an allergy ( NOT)

Sounds interesting, I might actually go see it now! (Usually if the trailers don't catch my eye first time I don't go see the movie, but you've convinced me with that review :P I love Castaway!)

One of the things that has been so different about Montana than Hawaii is to see customers walk into the stores and restaurants wearing holsters with revolvers in them. I had guns growing up, and I'm sure at some point soon we'll get some guns here in Montana.

Guns are almost banned in Hawaii ain't they?

There is a huge culture change as you go from state to state when it comes to guns. Here in Ga, AL an TN I run around with a .410 revolver on my hip an an AR-15 in the back window of my truck without issue. People don't usually even notice unless I go down around Atlanta. I get looks in Atlanta but nothing has ever been said... In all these years I have only had one time something was said. It was a walmart manager who told me I could not have a gun in the store. I told her she was wrong an what the rules are an to call corporate. She got on the phone an never said another word to me.

Contrast that to my trip the other day. I had to cut across the pan handle of Maryland. Maybe 20 miles of a 1444 mile road trip. I am required to stop before entering their state an unload all my guns, and lock the guns an ammo in separate locking compartments that are not part of the passenger area. I am then not aloud to stop in their state. (gas?) I am driving a truck. It has no compartments outside the passenger area an the only compartment it does have is the glove box an it does not lock... Needless to say, the only rule of theirs I followed was not stopping an giving them any of my money...

Pennsylvania was as far as I needed to go but I would have had the same issue if I needed to cross Connecticut, Rode Island, New York an a few others.

That trip was the fist time in years that I had to put more though in to my guns than I do my car keys or cell phone.

Yes, there are very few guns in Hawaii. A few people have a license to carry a concealed gun (very hard to get there), but outside of that and police officers, the only people who carry guns are the criminals. :o(
