Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Today we saw "Demolition". Jake Gyllenhaal played the part of a bizarrely grieving man eloquently and there is a kid playing a minor role who was great, but the movie should have been demolished. Disjointed, weird flashbacks, muted dialogue, unreal portrayals - there were some really good scenes and laughs, but the whole movie did not gel. Can only go 2 stars out of 4 for this implosion.

They've been showing trailers on TV for a new movie about Florence Foster Jenkins. Meryl Streep is the star. It looks good, I'm going to see it.

Ta da!! Saw JUNGLE BOOK, this morning. My brother gave it 4 stars, I give it 5 stars(out of possible 4). We both LOVED it

( he is 65, I am 68). The young boy is excellent, especially when you realize he was playing to an empty screen (animals are CGI). The animals are not perfect but, the closest to life as I've seen. A great story and good actors picked for the voices. It did make me tear up a little.

Good to know. I've heard a lot of good things about that movie.
