Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

We LOVED Swiss Army Man, my husband and I thought it was hilarious, my 17 yr old son thought it was sad and not so funny. Then I saw it again and it wasn't as funny, but very touching and deep. It seems to be a different movie every time you see based on you current mood. It's definitely not for everyone, very quirky, you have to accept it at the beginning and not start judging, then if you can relax into it it's really great.

Actually I've always told my friends "If I don't like being dead, I'll be back!" That scared 'em alright.

Did you watch 1990 'Flatliners'?
There is a re-make coming out next summer, Kiefer Sutherland is going to play a roll in the new one.
Already people complaining, just like with Ghostbusters.... geez, if you don't want to watch it don't. All the hoopla over 2005's Dukes of Hazzard, 'nothing like the original' no it wasn't, but I still thought it was a good movie, just like Karate Kid with Jaden Smith, nothing like the original, and kung fu not karate Lol! but still a good movie.
I do wish re-makes would follow closer to the originals though, but then I guess it would be like watching the same movie just with different actor's. ..

Brent, getting old is such a drag. I can't remember the earlier movies. This new Star Trek, stirred up nostalgic feelings and was very satisfying to me.
Oh, okay

I saw "10 Cloverfield Lane" last night. Think it came out in theaters several months ago. It was very well done, but creepy

My heart was racing throughout the movie

. If you love horror/thriller movies, you will love this movie. If you rarely watch horror/thriller movies, you might be alright, but it may creep you out a little bit.

Oh no, you reminded me of the woman in black. My sister couldn't sleep for days after seeing that film  Luckily I have only seen part of it. I'm too much of a wuss to watch 10CL.

Precisely. You are so right. The way people carry on, it's as if every single movie released has to be to their specific taste and liking. If you don't like the sound of it, give it a miss.

In the "olden days", they'd remake movies all the time, and it was just as you say "the same movie with different actors". I think there's 3 versions of "A Star is Born", there was one before the Judy Garland version. Who cares? don't want to go, don't go. shrug. If they remake something and they mess it up, it's on them. It's their money and their investment. If an original movie was done well, I don't know why they bother with a remake/reboot/whatever they want to call it, but if I'm not interested, I don't have to watch it.

That's the truth, I don't want to see another "Ben Hur," , and I've read yet another remake of King Kong is in the works. Even the movies that bomb here seem to have value overseas - so they keep cranking them out
