Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Yes, a long time ago. I didn't really "get it", I was just a kid when I saw it (my older brother took me). I suppose I'll watch it again if I go to see the new one, it seems to relate to the original with Harrison Ford being in it.
There's a few movies now that I've declined to see because I either didn't see the original and it pertains to the movie...or I just can't remember as much as I'd like and would like a refresher before I go to see the new movie...lol. I've already missed the Justice league with Batman and Aquaman.

I guess I overlooked mentioning we saw "The Hitman's Bodyguard", with Samuel Jackson and Ryan Reynolds. It was fast paced, fun & explosive. Didn't really expect to like it but brother & I sure did. We both ranked it 3.5 out of 4 stars. Sam & Ryan really had chemistry going and that always makes a movie enjoyable to me.

I had the same experience. Went out with my cinema friend because it was her birthday and it's a tradition that we have Mexican food at Chiquitos and then a movie. There was nothing that we fancied film wise, but The Assassin's Bodyguard was one of the few movies showing late enough that night to give us time to get food first. We had a low or no expectation.... not really our genre...... but absolutely loved it! As stated, the chemistry between the leading males was excellent and although there is a ridiculously high body count, it was highly entertaining throughout and the car/boat/motor cycle chases were good. There was just enough comedy to make it light hearted without being stupid and there is an interesting underlying moral conundrum about whether it is better to be an assassin or a bodyguard. I would definitely recommend it and agree with DD that it is a good 3.5 out of 4 stars.

I think I'll avoid reviews altogether. I almost went to see that, they had it on a special, but the reviews put me off.
I had really wanted to see that movie, I thought it looked really awesome! It worked out that I worked that day and I just ended up staying home to be on here...lol. I love Ryan Renold's humor and his delivery. I thought paired WIth Samual...it would've been a riot!

I basically disregard reviews unless from Sandy Kenyon in NY. deedee is my go to for movie choice. We seem to agree on film quality.
I usually just look at rotten tomatoes and the synopses on there. I only ever look up something I don't know anything about. If I want to see something, I don't look up ANYTHING. They always wreck it. With new movies out, sometimes there isn't a lot to go on, viewer votes are usually few so it can be artificially high or low to what it will end up being when there are more responses.

Thanks Sour but, I also loved "Deadpool," my brother hated it. He loved Dunkirk, I hated it. I love alot of the Marvel stuff but not all. We seem to agree on most of these.
I don't think you would go see "Guardians of the Galaxy". "Logan," (last movie for Wolverine) etc. both were excellent.

Right now I am a huge Idris Elba fan after streaming the Netflix series "Luther." - 4 seasons, twice. Just as good the second time. Liked "The Dark Tower," because I never read the Steven King book.

We do have our differences Sour but on truly great movies - we seem to connect ie;
"Hidden Figures" , "Prisoners," - there's more but my memory ran out.

It's all good Sour, I have often seen movies that you liked and I did also. I always tell my brother "Sour likes this one."

We missed "Logan" - not because of me.
