Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Mine are kind of yesterdays news, but awesome nonetheless.
Bumblebee (PG) 👍👍 Very well done, very different from the other TF movies, and my personal favorite movie. If you enjoy(ed) watching G1, you will enjoy this. Two thumbs up!!

The Prisoner of Azkaban (PG) Just Wow. Awesome movie. Who doesn't like Harry Potter? Thumbs up!

Back to the Future (PG) A hilarious, imaginative story with a meaning and a time machine. Thumbs up!

Jurassic world (PG-13) They just do the same, stupid thing over and over again in these movies, nothings new. Thumbs down.

Just saw The Big Sick and from the description it was not at all what I expected. I expected a romantic comedy involving an interracial relationship. About the only comedy in this movie is that the main character is a comedian. I did not laugh but I cried a great deal. I also lost faith in modern medicine. I wont spoil the movie but I will say that if doctors knew the difference inbetween bacteria and inflammation it would have been a lot shorter movie. Very disappointed
Thanks for the review!

Maggie Smith has never been more delightful or notable than in "The Lady in the Van". The movie is both exuberant and irreverent. Bringing you from extremes of great joy to extreme melancholy. Ultimately realizing along the way what it means to be appreciated as a human being versus a"second class citizen". It brings to light social paradigms as well as emotional reverence. I fully enjoyed this film in its artistic nature but for those that like films without a nature or glimpse into humanity as a whole it might not be for you.

I really enjoyed this film too. So heartwarming!

Ninja squirrel thank you for your review. Did you see the movie at a theater or rent/buy the movie in question. Just wondering if some folks are comfortable enough to visit movie theaters again. I would love to go back. But my brother(70) has cardiac & diabetes issues and I can't chance bringing covid to him.

Has anyone seen My Octopus Teacher yet? I heard an interview with the filmmaker and read some reviews, but don't know if I'm up for it emotionally (unless I can scrounge up a huge box of tissues). If you've seen it, is it really sad?
We loved it!

We rent movies at the library because its free. Unless it is something we really want to see on the big screen or a special occasion we don't go to the movies. Our movie theaters are still shut I think but our drive in is open. They're not playing anything new though. I wouldn't be bothered with attending a movie even now in this state of events.
