Sterling rolled her eyes as he left. She couldn't decide on whether or not she wanted to follow him. She shrugged and rolled her eyes again. Then she flapped her wings and flew out of the big hole that was in the ceiling that he tall tree was through. She followed Basalt from a fair distance.

It took Basalt about 30 min to reach the Cave. When he arrived, he navigated the passageways, using his talons to feel for vibrations in the ground. “Moss.” He called. “Where are you?” He felt for his pupa’s familiar footsteps, but couldn’t sense them. And yet someone familiar was was coming down the passage…
