Marrow looked sympathetically at Afina, cursing silently at the idea of bringing a child to such a risky place. And telling her it was a surprise, too!
The two flew through the air, nearing the beachfront cave.
“No!” Tide laughed. “I’m going to do the same thing you did when it happens to me! Raaahhrrr- ahhhhh!” She mocked, rolling on the floor and giggling.
Rowan's tail was now sparked up with fire. "How did we get stuck in this situation?" He began to pace back and forth in the small room.
Whisp grabbed her by her tail and flipped her into the air, swiftly catching her before she even started to fall. "It feels good to really fly for the first time in a while..."
“Ah, Wisp! Put me down!” Tide laughed.
Afina felt tears form in her eyes. Water was where she belonged and now she couldn't even go in it anymore. She started to walk away from Marrow even though she didn't know where she was going.
Whisp created a slide for her out of his long tail, and she slid gently to the floor.

Marrow started to cry too. She wasn't sure what was wrong with her, but she felt so much sympathy for Afina that it morphed into anger. Anger at the dumb water. A stupid tempation to lay in the water and catch the virus herself, just to show the universe, tickled the back of her brain. Instead, she swiveled around, catching up to Afina. "I have one more place to show you. I promise this one won't be a disappointment."
