Open the coop this morning, everyone scurries on out, check for eggs and see drops of blood everywhere. Find one of my hens has blood all over her face and chest, scoop her up and bring her inside start flushing the area on top of her bill, it's a flap the size of a dime. Once I got it clear and stopped the bleeding, I sprayed it with Vetericyn. She's in the quarantine run outside, but I'm wondering if I'll need to bring her inside for a couple of days to limit the contact with dirt that she'll be noodling up?: Besides spraying more Vetericyn is there anything else I should do?
Checked the coop for any sharp edges and couldn't find any, there is a hardware cloth divider, but the edges are completely protected from them. Could she have possibly cut her bill from rubbing on it?
She's a sweet pea and is acting fine, but of course, worried mama over here. Thanks in advance!
