All my quail were terrified of me.

They're adorable when they're that small. Psycho furry circus peanuts. Now, when ever I reach I to the cages they all (except for a few) run away. They DO NOT like being caught.

When quail have a mother hen, they huddle under her for shelter and warmth. For these babies, you are mother hen. Giving them something to hide under when you aren't there would probably make them feel more secure.

I do! They have a warm cave made of cloth and they all stay there when I'm not there
