They are in a coop named Starbucks

Sweet or sweetie pie- golden sex link
Sour or sourpuss-barred rock rooster
They are In a coop named Panda Express

Mumble ( like the penguin from happy feet, he likes to dance)-frizzle
He is in a separate cage because he is a rooster
Snow-silkie
In a separate cage

I am getting 4 more chicks and I need names! They are going to be frizzles and silkies

We are just starting to name as personalities appear in the chicks and ducklings. The tiniest pekin duck is Derpy, a speckled Sussex recovering from wry neck is called Twist( by my youngest daughter) a golden comet that stands out by hopping onto your hand as soon as you open the brooder is still stuck between goldilocks and bounce.

I saw where someone had named theirs after gems. I thought that was pretty cool. I have seen musical references, which I kinda think Im leaning too. But more like Garfunkel (roo), Lucy (in the sky with diamonds), ect. I don't know still thinking on all that. Love some of these names on here. Some had me crackin' up!

Hahaha! Me too! And thank you!! I have chicks coming Monday, so I have been sitting trying to come up with names to bestow on some of these ladies. Who would have thought it so hard to name...chickens. LOL It's like naming my kids!

Hahaha!! I LOVE that! I figure ours would end up sang to as well! I mean singing in the middle of the country is like singing in the shower....its bound to happen! LOL

Henrietta is the bigger of my Rhode Islands, Little is the smaller ones name.
I also have Foghorn, and Leghorn...my 2 white chicks..

I did have more than just the two hens I have now...unfortunately we had a raccoon rampage and I lost all but these two ladies. Since then the coop has been fortified and NOTHING can get in there. I didn't get too creative with their names.

This is Henny Penny (who is my favorite and pretty much everyone's favorite who comes to visit.)
Not even sure what kind of mix she is but she's a sweet gal and a great layer. This is a pic of her roaming around on our deck.


This is Andreana (a blue cochin) named after an Italian great grandmother, all of those great aunts on that side of the family were large grand ladies so the name sort of fits her....she's not as friendly as Henny Penny but she will eat out of your hand and comes running for treats.


I've got babies in the brooder and told myself not to name them till they get older but couldn't resist naming one...Wanda (rhode island red)


Other names on the list for the rest of the 11 chicks in the brooder are Edna, Gherkin, Olga, Nadine and Bernice...and might have to steal a previous poster's idea of doing all of the Golden Girls' names
