My daughter, who is a vegetarian, named our girls after chicken dishes: Chimichanga (Red Star), Florentine and Tetrazzini (Buff Orpingtons); Gumbo Ya-Ya (a fat Barred Rock); and Vindaloo (black Australorp). We also had PotPie who died when she was only a couple of weeks old

I have 4 adult chickens -
1 blue Silkie rooster named Hercules
1 white Silkie hen my daughter named Nugget
2 GLWs named Sophie and Delilah.

I also have 7 two-week old chicks:

2 Black Jersey Giants - LaFonda and Francis (both names are the result of inside jokes with a friend of mine)
1 Buff Orpington - Buttercup
2 Silver Spangled Hamburgs - Luna and Serena
2 Buff Brahmas - Ava and Sabrina

I haven't named my coop yet... Still trying to think of something clever for that.

Oh, I had a big laugh with the mother cluckers!

But I would pick the red roost inn. It sounds very elegant.

My chickens all look the same and I had children of a different cultural background pick the names. Here they are:
Tweety, Haru, Hana Hibari, Summer and Giserda. Nobody knows who is who, but we sure have fun calling them.
