CX dying like flies

Erm... just enough to keep them from sitting on my porch begging for food all day? I'm not sure.
I have about 50 birds in the main flock, including 7 CX; I put out 2 full gallon dishes of feed.
This YouTube guy... Rhodes, says a third of a pound per bird per day, but that’s adult birds. I just give my regular littles free choice but they prefer picking around in the grass if that’s an option. I guess I’ll go with the 20 min per day Ralphie suggested. That’s easy to figure at least. :)

Definitely easier than my methods of calculation!

Actually, I am smartest... I don't have to mess with bringing food in and out, I simply fill the bowls once and it's right for my entire flock, layers and meaties alike. No timers required. :plbb

Just to let you guys know, my CX are doing a lot better. I was nervous leaving them with no food for so long, but it appears to be just what they needed. I found one dead one again yesterday morning, which I expected since there was one looking pretty sick the night I put up this topic. The rest are much more lively, pooping a lot less—more like normal chicks of their size—and very glad to see their food this evening. I’ve got to go and take it away now. Thanks everyone!

Here they are... they’re probably whispering threats of sedition around the water cooler since I just tied their food up, out of reach. Looks like it might be time to raise the nipple drinker up a little more... They also have a pan of water though, so they’re not hurting for fluids.
