Well, I now have a newly found respect for the term, “you learn something new every day”. I didnt know that tapping the beak and comb would tell them that you are the boss. I did know that crowing is a sign of dominance. No crowing around me anymore!!

It might not work for all of them, but it's worked for my Nankin boys. It's what they do to each other when they want to let their buddy know he's overstepped his bounds.
