Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

Aww, Frenchies are my favorite! They're such cute, affectionate dogs. <3 TBH, I kind of have a pipe dream of breeding miniature runners by somehow finding the right cross of runner and call duck, so they'll be tiny yet still walk like a penguin. It's probably a fool's errand, but I just squee at the thought of pigeon-sized penguin ducks!
Actually someone did that! I wanted some but he sold off his flock and got out a year before I found him. Actually I want to do that as well!

They did?? Oh man, I wish I could have seen them! I think when we sell this house and get a one-story with a yard that'll be my ambition, breeding minirunners. <3

Sign me up for miniRunners! Uh oh. Did I just type that? It will have to wait till we get a bigger place . . . .

He is super sweet and playful but not very smart. My mastiff/lab is the smartest dog I've ever owned. My frenchie was already 2 years old when I adopted him so the correct training early in life may have changed that. Who knows.

Bantam runners... that would be cute lol

No, we hatch our own birds, so there are always extra roosters growing out that we don't need for breeding. We butcher several times per year to remove the extras

Do hens normally live longer than roosters?

Around here they do, but most of my hens die of natural causes & my roos get assistance finding their way to my freezer.

Last year I hatched two call ducks a drake and a female, they just started to lay about a eek and s half ago, I know the eggs are fertilised because I sccudently dropped one, and I saw the bullseye, so I have a total of five eggs that I got over a week, I wasn't planning on hatching them but 2 days ago a fox got them both, so I though I would try and hatch them out just put them in in the incubator last night and I will hopefully have some duckies in 4 weeks time :D
