Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

Hils is bringing home his tablet for me tonight, it has an internal cam like his iphone so I'll take all the pictures and video my heart desires! <3

Milkshake's sibling had to be peeled out, too. Poor little guy couldn't move at all, or just didn't want to. But he's fluffing up and is getting the hang of walking around!
àaaaaaaaaaaa!!! That was a happy scream. Didja hear it all the way up there? Now how is Wobs reacting to that. And please keep both of them with Wobs, you are a great duck mommy.

These babies really drive the point homw of just how weird Wobbles truly is. Wobbles would always do a little  dance before pooping (he still does) and was a total klutz. These ones are like little ferraris, running around at top speed. scaling obstacles in a single jump and pooping like they don't even notice anything. XD
aah, love Wobbles' uniqueness of call duckness.

He was my first call duck so I never had a point of reference, but if these ducklings are "normal" then it just really highlights Wobbles' utter uniqueness. XD I'll try to get a video of his "poopy dance"; he takes a step backwards, sticks his wings up, his head down and clacks his bill for a few seconds. It's hilarious!

And I can already tell Milkshake is gonna be a handful. She zooms around the brooder at top speed, and can jump clean over a 4 inch tall beanie baby! As for keeping them both, I just don't know if I can...changing one diaper ten times a day is already quite a task, I don't think I can handle three! Besides, if my hunch is correct and I have one girl and one boy, it just won't work. Wobbles is already pretty protective, I can't have two males fighting over the hen.

I've found a BYC member who lives in Olympia that breeds show-quality snowy, white and apricot calls, she's more than happy to add a chocolate to the mix. It'll be a great home for the lil' tyke, and as difficult as it will be to say goodbye, it'll have a whole flock of other call ducks to bond with and do all sorts of ducky things together!

Wobbles' pre poopoose ministrations are hilarious. Especially the bill clacking part. And I am happy you have a well experienced person to take the other bird. So that's a relief. I often wondered how many times the diapers got changed. This is so exciting for you guys. Has Milkshake slept well thru the night? Little potato jumping burrowing running ducklette.

Well, she slept a little bit, and now that the other duckling is out maybe I can actually get some sleep tonight, for once!

Also, I noticed something peculiar - Milkshake keeps moving her head from side to side, I noticed it when I picked her up a while ago, Whenever she wants to look right at an object she shakes her head to get a bead on it with both her eyes! I guess her nickname "Shakey" is pretty dang apropos! :p

I got a video of her doing it, here the two cute little snugglebugs napping together:
