Why are calls somewhat difficult to hatch?
Oh, do they just dont have enough strength? Do y'all just let nature take it's course or do you kinda help them along during a hatch?Because they are little ducks. Also the SQ ones have such little beaks they cant break out....
Cool. Babies are cute and I enjoy the pics folks post. And, u r right, many helpful people here on this forum.Sure will dothis forum helped me loads hatching call ducks

Look what arrived today! All thanks to an awesome BYC friend.
They came from Matts waterfowl which is kuecker1(may have that spelled wrong) here on BYC. A good hearted person I sent calls to a couple years ago heard about a predation issue with an owl I had and I lost all my breeders and show birds but 1 pair and an extra drake. She was soooooo nice and grateful for some other things people have done for her that she had these sent to me to help me rebuild. I love BYC.
Yeah, kinda. They also can't literally reach the shell since their beaks are so short. I'd say about 90% of show quality calls need help hatching! I feel really bad about it...I'm one of those people who feels bad for bulldogs since we've bred them to the point where they can't give birth naturally, and yet, I own and adore call ducks. I'm such a big fay hypocrite!
I have calls and a french bulldogI don't breed my bulldog though and don't try to downsize the size of my calls or their beaks either. Most of them are quite small already and I think they're perfect just the way they are.![]()
