Mini's right, white is kinda weird...it's either REALLY stable, or delicate as heck. For the most part two white birds will always make white, but if you get one drop of snowy in there, good luck getting pure white birds ever again! I've also seen white crosses result in anything from pied to friggin' mallard coloration. No clue why. 

oh an snowy can really.mess with things! I've got a blue pied drake that isn't the greatest quality but he carries snowy and his wings as far as color are a genetic mess.

Right?? Dan Jerome said he got his birds from Art Lundgren, who accidentally contaminated his white line with a single snowy drake his friend gave him....back in the 80's. Dan's been breeding whites exclusively for over a decade now.

His birds still have a single black feather on their heads.

homestly, that's one I don't have an answer to. I know in mandarins it expresses and white ticking or feathers on the chest.
