MontanaDolphin is still dealing with a weird problem with a hatched chick. Neck is forward and the chick can’t get up. She found a link to crazy chick disease. Mlmddh said the description does not seem to fit. Keep trying the vitamins. Go here for help. Arielle said to not over do the vitamins—cause problems.
HappyAcresKY is a bit late in the hatch—has pips now in turkey eggs and Welsh harlequins
Coopsbyty has 10 still wiggling(Check those temps—sounds like they are too low)
Book hatch 3 chicks with the singing incubator from Hell! We are all so happy!
Jinks12333 has one still absorbing the yolk. Poor little thing!
Cynthia12 won best hatch participant!
Maryhysong hopes more will hatch—had a temp drop to 68 one day…
Cynthia12 told us that there are meteor showers going on this week! Best time to see them was last night from Midnight to Dawn. They are still going tonight though.
Other Broody hens attacked Nomibears chicks! I hope they recover!
TJChickens posted a baby cockatoo picture in post 12119.
Chiqita encouraged those hatching under broodies. It can take a bit longer sometimes with them.

Angelobutter has a chick that did not absorb the yolk. It looks fairly good and may be fine. Post 12167
Sally Sunshine has HRIRs pipping!
Foxvalleyfarm posted some odd air cell photos in post 12189. Humidity issues—likely from sand in the bottom. Mlmddh suggested covering part of the sand with Saran Warp. Humidity is 90%. Chiqita said to not reuse the sand—bacteria problems. Foxvalleyfarm said no more sand will be used!
Coopsbyty has late pippers!(raise those temps and calibrate thermometers) Likely caused by a bad waver thermostat/heater.
Jbher has one with a vent problem. Happy Chooks thinks it is a navel problem and to put medicine on it.
Wisher1000 helped a breeder chick out—against her own rules—The chick made it but will not be used for breeding.
Cynthia12 has a first Rooster and at 5 months is starting to crow. She wonders when he will start mating.

Darbygill asked about mixing feed store chicks with hatched chicks. Beekissed said it would be fine and is doing that now.
Pickitfarm had one lone hatched chick.
Gryeyes is not holding out much hope for the turkey egg from the Wild Turkey that was hit by a car. There was development but no movement now.
Chiqita uses ice cube trays as a feeder! Great idea!
JDchicks lost her only smooth Cochin!
Book received a refund for the Singing Incubator from Hell! Wondered what to do with it. Several suggested using it as a hatcher.
Chicken pickin has Duck eggs pipped on day 25!
JennaLynn122 has a mean rooster that wants to flog her. Ddhyland sent hers to freezer camp and wondered how he was stopped at her place? The aggressive boy is knocked on his butt repeatedly until he gives up! Ddhuyland tried this but it did not work. I suggest spur trimming but Freezer camp? Rooster and dumplings is very tasty…
Junibutt had a pip on day 20 and was waiting for it to zip. Wondered if 2 hours was a long time to wait. Chicken pickin said no worries—it can take 24 hours to zip and hatch. Mlmddh said 20+ hours. I said that it would likely hatch in the morning but another chick might hatch first. Mlmddh said that is true and the first one pipped is seldom the first one hatched. The chick hatched this morning.
Jinks12333 had one die after 45 min. of working with a sick one.
Alwayswantschicks has temp problems and losing chicks.
TJCickens has a bad air cell call duck pipping internally. Wonders if help is needed. Foxvalleyfarm has similar problems and wound up helping. Normal incubation is 28-34 days for Calls

Wolftracks added 6 to the hatch count and is sitting at 25 now!
ShayBaby had lethal humidity in the hatcher—99%. Oxygen is too low for life at that level and temperature.

Chickenlisa figured out a problem with an incubator with the help of GQF. A new incubator top—Digital!—has been ordered.
Chicken pickin built a coolerbator! It looks very nice too.
Angelobutter wants to know what to charge for chicks. Sally Sunshine said to research online to see what each breed goes for. Pozees said to check the local area. They go for $3-25 in her area.
Gryeyes was able to put the chicks together under the broody Sparkle
The eggs that were lost in shipping to Cynthia12s place are hatching!
DCchicken needs a good cabinet incubator. With the fancy breeds, yes for sure!
Chicken pickin has the Brinsea spot check working well and has adjusted temps. Hatches will be much better now.
Foxvalleyfarm Posted a hatched egg photo. Wondered why it was so wet. It looks normal but wet. Sally posted a link to hatched egg analysis
