Daily Duck Egg Report for 2015

It's a nice perk of having poultry. I hated when my girls were taking a break over winter that after about 4 yrs I had to go buy grocery store eggs. So happy they are starting back, although if I get an egg today I'll be amazed since it's -27 with wind chill. actual temp is 1F suppose to get up to 7F

Oh wow, that's cold! I knew there is a reason I'm in TX. I'm happy with my 30-40's high for winter. Today is suppose to be 70.

Holy c..p!!! This is cold. It is bad enough here. We are in the freeze your butt off in the overnight and a.m. and mid-70's to 80's in the afternoons. But wind chill of -27 is deadly. Stay warm if you can. We are thinking of you hand send our best.

You guys are in the warm zone of Texas. Here in West Texas it will be in the 70's today but was in the 20's last night. Our issue is the wind. Chill factors are frigid. But Spring is just around the corner.

I bet that could get heated.

I did get a duck egg but it was frozen and split, tomorrow I'll have to check first thing but it will probably still be frozen, I also have two chickens sitting in nest boxes now either they are laying an egg are just trying to warm up. I haven't a clue till the get up. we're now up to 5*waiting for 10 to go do my chores.

Well, just one egg this morning. Poke hasn't bothered to lay one yet, and may not lay one at all today. I'll check back out there in a few hours and see what's up.

I'm also making progress in taming them... they both came running up to the gate when I came outside. I think they were hoping for peas.

Woh! @Miss Lydia ! While I won't even blink about -27F even without wind chill in Montana, I know that is crazy cold in your neck of the woods especially now since it is currently 47F in my back yard
