Haha wouldn't that have been a surprise if someone had been broody. You'd have had your own little army of ducks.

I have just one Pekin duck. Evidently she is a very happy duck because she lays an egg for me every day. The only time she doesn't lay eggs is when she is molting.

Helli everyone well I have a question I have a mallard hen that layed most of fall and then stopped for about two months then started laying again for about a week then stop and hasent laid an egg now again in three weeks is that normal? The other two hens stopped over winter and have started back up this spring and havent missed a day yet! :idunno

No, I don't think that's normal... Unless she is molting or gone broody, she should be laying, if her season of rest has ended. Altho weather snaps can cause issues too. Have you had strange weather? If it gets remarkably cold or hot my Ladies might take a day off... But not 3 weeks.

My bet is she's getting smart, like the duck above. Time for you to head out for an Easter Egg Hunt.

Otherwise, just check nutrition, environment, and you should get eggs soon!

Collected a grand total of 5 from a half hidden-half Broodie's nest total, plus 4 more in other areas.

Ok thanks ya we have had a rollar coster of temps and weather 60 to freezing over nights but they are free ranging so she could have a nest but I never see her leave the group to lay an egg!
