Daily Writing Prompt Thread Thingy It'll Be Fun

The wind whipped past the sea dragon’s wings; her sail cutting through the wind.

Rainclouds gathered the distant southeast as the Aquation propelled herself towards Enfernae. East.
She could barely make out the nearing forest groves and badlands beyond through her blurry eyes.
She only had one task now, to get Vixen’s scientists to remake the Cure and help her dragons. They were all suffering right now, as she had been only days before. The Virus was an evil, captivating thing.
She could remember most of what she’d done in those horrible days. The Virus slowly taking over her mind, it had felt like another being had crawled right into her brain and taken control of her body. Everything she’d done had felt mostly.. intentional. There’s was just that tiny part of her that was still thinking straight, telling her what awful things she was doing as she did them.
The Virus was too strong though, and losing her only egg..

She shuddered in grief. It had only made her madness all the worse.
She remembered watching her mate flew from her, she’d gone mad before him. She remembered his terrified eyes. She remembered chasing down her remaining sane soldiers and advisors. She.. remembered killing them.

She’d already met two rescued Aquations, Tide and Ace, being taken care of by other tribes. Even Basalt (Basalt! Of all dragons!) had adopted a wyrm.
She didn’t have anything left to lose but her fellow monarches, so she thought she’d done the right thing by surrendering.
Just hours ago.. “Why did you do it?” She had seen the pain in Kallitrax’s eyes and instantly had second-guessed her descision.

Had it been a wrong decision to surrender to Apollyon?
He was the only one who had a definite cure for her dragons. If she’d resisted, along with the Solosis and Aerattl, Apollyon might’ve withheld the Cure.
Sure, the ocean waters were cured, but how many more dragons were going to die before the Virus wore out of their systems?
She needed it now.

Lightning flashed near the peaks of Mnt. Ascension; Monarche Current continued striving east, hoping the there would be dragons that could help her.

TW: murder/ angsty mental breakdown stuff, blood

Corvus gazed up at his sister with a stricken look in his wide green eyes from where he crouched on the dusty ground.

"Why did you do it?" Owl snarled, staring down at him. "Why would you kill the dragon that raised you? Jay saved your life, multiple times over and you repay her with a slit throat."

"I had to!" Corvus pleaded. "Don't you understand?"

Owl had a long red scratch scored across her face, the blood making her fine white face feathers stick together. Her eyes narrowed. "No, Corvus, I don't understand."

Corvus chest was heaving with desperation, his eyes wild. "They're going to kill her Owl, you're the one that doesn't understand!"

He lunged upwards suddenly, his black wings flying up in Owl's face and temporarily blinding her as Corvus's long black body shot into the air. Owl lunged after him, a white blur in the moonlight, tackling him to the ground again. Corvus let out a furious shriek and spun around, talons outstretched.

Owl quickly dodged his attack, flinging out one wing, the leading edge catching her brother in the chest as he passed.

"Ouf" gasped Corvus, tumbling to the ground.

"Stop this!" Owl cried. "We can figure this out together, you just have to let me!"

Corvus slowly struggled to his talons, talons that still had traces of blood making the feathers sticky. He stood, panting, his wings drooping at his sides. It cut Owl like a knife to see her brother this way. He had always been so sweet, an intelligent, logical dragon.

"I'm going to kill him." Owl muttered. Their grandfather had done this.

Corvus said nothing, just stared with wide eyes.
"I know you love her," Owl said, a little softer. "But there are better ways. You can't let Vulture get to you. You know he might not even give Silversky back to you. Shes a very special dragon, hes not going to let her go easily."

Corvus let out a long, long breath, curls of vapor hissing out of his nostrils. "You're right."
He looked down at his bloodied talons. "I need her back, Owl," he whimpered, his voice breaking.

Owl stepped forward, opening her speckled white wings. Her brother fell into them, collapsing and folding into her like he was a small dragonet again. He was crying, his body shuddering, wings shaking uncontrollably.

"I'm so sorry, Owl," he whispered. "I let everyone down."
Owl reached up and ran her talon through her little brothers crest, holding him closer. "It'll be okay. We'll figure this out, I promise. We wont let Silversky die."

She looked up at the waxing moon. "She's a very powerful dragon, Corvus. She can take care of herself."

A memory flashed through her head. Silversky's chrome-silver scales flashing, lethal spears and needles of silver moonlight shooting ahead of her, slamming into feathered enemies. Yes, she can take care of herself, Owl mused. It'll all be okay.

Here is my writing for the prompt Why did you do it! It is not the best but I am a beginner, any advice would be welcome!

“How could you?” Gabi shrieked, tears ran down her cheeks and her hair blurred her vision. Rome looked down at the sword in his hands. “I didn’t mean to I swear!” He exclaimed stepping towards her. “It wasn’t me, it was a spell! You know me Gabi I am your brother! I wouldn’t harm a butterfly.”

She shook her head, possibly in denial. He wouldn’t harm a butterfly would he? Then why was their king dead and the blood on his hands. “It was the Cattiva Witch! Gabi I swear, it wasn’t me!” Rome pleaded. She reached towards her belt, her hand fastening tightly onto her wand.

“How could it be the witch? She has been dead for centuries Rome! You are going crazy!” Rome looked like he was being torn if half by emotions. “Gabi,” he breathed. “Please Gabi don’t do this.” Gabi whisked her wand out and pointed it at Rome.

“Why Rome, why would you do this?” Before Rome had a chance to respond Gabi flicked her wand and cried out, “Sonno!” A spark of light shot into Rome’s chest, he fell to his knees with a sorrowful look on his face.

Gabi sucked in a breathe as he collapsed onto the palace’s cold stone floor. His eyes remained on her until they closed. Almost immediately after, Gabi regretted it. Was Rome telling the truth? Was the Cattiva Witch really back? If so, it wasn’t just the king that was going to die.
