Daily Writing Prompt Thread Thingy It'll Be Fun

Part of me really doesn't want to... 😭
But whatever 🥹
I might write another, new one for it later today if I can.
Funny enough it's actually the one I mentioned to you earlier
“Where are you?”

I stayed silent despite his footsteps getting closer. There were advantages with being the same colour as shadows sometimes. The footstep stopped abruptly.

“I know you’re here Celeste.” I froze at my name. No one ever used it.

“A lot of people know I exist…” I whispered.

He sighed, “And while I know you don’t believe it, some do actually care that you do.”

“I don’t know that that is true. I’m just someone who messes things up, then I leave to fix things, but that doesn’t matter because no one seems to notice when I’m gone.” I responded quietly.

“Do you really believe that’s true?”

I hesitated, “Yes.”

“Then why am I here right now?”

I blinked. I walked out form the shadows and stared at him. “Why are you here?”

He gave a slight smile, “Because I do care about you, Thing. Now let’s head back.” He turned to go but waited for me to join him before continuing further.

Hhhmmmmm
You can reject this
How about

“I know you’re still here”
Nnaaarrrrr you have to write a new oonneeeeee
Here's a new one, directly inspired :p

For the 500th time in this thread, this OC returns :D (Also just wanted to write him after digging through my notes to salvage stuff 🥲)

Ash sighed, “I know you’re still here, Birch.”

“Oh, I know you do.” The younger wolf poked his head out from behind a tree with a lopsided smile. He trotted over, “I’m getting a little tired of seeing you moping around alone constantly, thought you might like- decided you needed some company.”

Of all the wolves he knew, Birch had to be the only one it was near impossible for Ash to be actually mad at. He didn’t have the strength to argue with his brother on this, so stayed silent.

Birch glanced around at the forest realizing there wasn’t anything of particular interest in this area. “Wait. What DO you do alone all day??”

“I think. Which is why I do it alone, it’s not like you’re going to be able to help me do that. I’m also just trying to stay away from Glade and those other two to avoid causing trouble for Barras and everyone else.”

Birch sat down and flicked his tail through the leaf litter, “Yeah, I figured. I’m not sure you can avoid them forever though. Lilly’s worried about you wandering off all the time, and the rest of us hardly get to see you.”

The black wolf was getting agitated and glared at the leaves as they resettled on the ground, “I know she’s worried but at this point there’s nothing I can do about it. I just need more time to think.”

“Ok.” Birch stared at his paws, “We’re all here if you need us though,” He looked back up, “That’s what family’s for, isn't it?”

Ash squeezed his eyes shut at the words , “Yeah, it is Birch… it is.”

Aw! :love

I have another idea I'm considering on writing, but an idea of doing a scene with one of my wolf characters for this also crossed my mind, then I came on here and saw that you did! I find that interesting, lol.

“I know you’re still here”
Ok, this might be a bit graphic so sensitive viewers might not want to read this. As I was playing this scene out in my mind, I suddenly realized that on any of my scenes like this I completely forget to actually add the element that makes the scene graphic: blood. (I can be a bit sensitive too, so that's probably why I forget.) It'll be a first, but I'm going to give it a try. 😬

"I know you're still here," the man's voice growled against the large metal crates. Rogelio was his name, if I remembered correctly. The crew had introduced themselves when we boarded the ship. Rogelio's footsteps were heavy but quiet. "And you won't be getting away," he said.
I pressed my back into a cold crate, gripping my blade tightly. It was hidden under my shirt still and I hoped I didn't need to use it. Clance tucked behind a crate not too far from mine and leaned back far enough so I could still see the twinkle in his eyes.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are," Rogelio snarled, his voice getting closer.
Clance tucked his hand under his cloak, grabbing his pistol most likely. He smiled at me and tugged on the cloth that was covering the tattoos by his left eye. I gritted my teeth. Maybe these missions would go better if he didn't always dress to look like a terrorist.
"Ha!" Rogelio jumped beside me, blade in hand. I stuck out my blade. He could make the first move. I'm not jumping up to get my head severed off by some maniac hiding above.
"Drop your weapons!" Zane, Rogelio's partner, jumped onto the crate above Clance. He pointed a rifle at me, then aimed it at Clance. "Hands where I can see them, spies!"
"Spies? You serious?" Clance chuckled. "I was about to light a cigar. You want one? Don't worry. I won't tell."
I shook my head. Why? Why did I have to be partnered with him? Movement caught my eye. Rogelio rushed at me. I struck his blade with mine. Zane shouted, but I didn't care. Rush at me with a blade and I'm going to fight back.
"POW!" My heart stopped. Someone was shot. Was it me? I felt no pain. Rogelio stood just as frozen as I was. A body clambered onto the ground behind me. Zane.
"Now, now, now, Rogelio," Clance's voice sounded behind me. "I'll give you an offer-"
"Not gonna have it," Rogelio stepped back. He dropped his dagger and pointed a pistol at me. My blood went cold. "Move, talk, anything, and I'll shoot Liam down," he said.
"Don't do it," I whispered. My grip tightened on my dagger, squeezing my sweat down the handle and onto the floor. This is not how I die. It never was, and I can't let it now. I jumped to the side and thrust my blade forward. "Down Clance!"
"Pow!" Blood splattered onto my clothes. Rogelio staggered forward and I pulled back my blade. He turned around, his eyes wide and distant. Blood ran down from where I stabbed his heart and met where a bullet had cut through his stomach. His eyes rolled into his head and he fell to the ground.
"Clance!" I gasped, my legs like rubber.
Clance snapped on blue rubber gloves and knelt by Zane as calm as could be. "Hey," he chuckled, "I told you not to worry about me." He pulled out a swab and a vial from his pocket and filled the vial with Zane's blood.
"Seriously? Now?" I said. "We need to get out of here!"
I threw a hand onto my mouth and turned away. Swallow it, I told myself, forcing the vomit back down. Vampire Clance, the nickname fit him well. I only wish I didn't have to witness his obsession.
Clance brushed against my back. "Why not?" he said. Zane was done and he'd be doing Rogelio next. "It's what we're here for and I can't let this precious stuff go to waste."
Clance dropped next to Rogelio and retrieved a new swab and vial. I held my mouth tighter. The vomit returned in my throat and reached my tongue. I swallowed it, pushing myself away. "Let's go," I muttered through my closed lips and headed for the door. I had to get off this ship and soon. If I didn't, it wasn't going to end well.
