Are these pictures good enough to tell anything?

yep That's better Red

Top ones are 100% your males
Middle ones 100% your females. Note how they are getting the lacing to the feathers.

The last one, I'm pretty sure will be a male as well, just not coloring as fast, maybe different quality of a bird is all. But dont see any lacing to him. Also has a colored wing bow and shoulders, pullets shouldnt.

First two are just classic quail juvie feathering by sex.

Thanks Aubrey, my blue quail are a few days away from being feathered out but it the color difference and lacing as different on those as well?
Do you have ony pictures of the splash bird you get out of blue quail? Do they just look like a splash or can you tell they are quail?

thanks

yes JJ
it's the same exact pattern, just the black is replaced by blue

on silver quail

same pattern just tan/red is replaced by white

dun quail black is replaced by chocolate

khaki black is replaced by a smokey silver

splash it's a yellowy body with white ish where the black should be. They are the most mixed up looking of all the versions.

I only have one splash quail hen. Never have taken a pic of her. But yes it's still the same pattern

It's not much of a picture, but this is a splash hen in the center

I have some blue and splash chicks from Ideal they are probably not good quality but I have a question. Is there any significance in the color difference between the two blue chicks in the following pic's?

Oh, Aubrey, I need clarification on the Mille Fleur split to lavs. What do you get in the following situations?

MF split to lav x MF
MF split to lav x porcelain-would they be all porcelain? or would I get more splits?
MF split to lav x MF split to lav

If I remember correctly, I'll get MF-looking out of the first generation of MF x porcelain, but they'll be split to lav. I know that at some point, I will get more porcelains out of the MF splits, but will I also get more MFs as well? I hope you get what I'm asking here. I can't wait till I have some pretty porcelain hens here. I adore Penny, Aimee and Carly, but I sure would like some porcelain girls in the mix. These are the sweetest little hens; both DH and myself just love them!

I know this. Aubrey can correct me if I am wrong.

MF split to lav x MF = all MF half split to lav
MF split to lav x porcelain = 50/50- MF/ porcelain all the MF split to lav
MF split to lav x MF split to lav =75% MF half split to lav and 25% porcelain

Makes my head hurt.
