D'anver males may be a bit fiestier
Funny, I wrote that, then erased it, LOL. I've only had one D'Uccle rooster, but he wasn't mature yet when I sold him. I'm told he turned a bit feisty later on, but I hear from friends who own D'Uccles that most of the roosters are pretty calm.
I can attest that the D'Anver boys are definitely "little big men". They love to push their less-than-considerable weight around, but since they weigh almost nothing, it's rather comical. I have four and they're all a bit different. The lowest ranking male is the least aggressive-he doesn't even bite me. One takes every chance he gets to bite or flog, but I expect it from him. The alpha male in there, Rufus, will occasionally bite, but not hard and he likes his chest rubbed, LOL. He did flog me the other day because I had a spray bottle and paper towels and was cleaning something in the coop-he sure hated that wad of paper towels for some reason. What a goof!
