Hate to hear that Do.
man I'm trying too on the eggs, those you wanted just have done squat. I am getting a few more pens laying now, so maybe they'll kick in sooner or later.
on the birds you mentioned
silver quail to blue silver quail will be 1/2 each
on the columbian roo to a silver quail. That's pretty much what I did this year, just flip flopped on the sexes as I just have hens. But it will be largely quail, guessing 3/4 as the columbian is half quail at this point. but you should get about 25% columbian to come out I would think. That's about what I got from them this year. Just ended up with all girls

Well poo! Guess the egg collected from that cage was laid by a hen sitting on top of the cage...yep NANA
That's a Ginger Red cockerel.
Just breed your porcelain set up for a while, then change the girl over to the mille male. Bred to the mille she'll make all mille, they will just carry lavender. As long as you just breed the new girls back to the mille male you have now, they will continue to be all just mille too.
You can make 2 colors with the one hen then. Just rotate her around.
same to the buff columbians. If you need to, you can breed those to mille or porcelain too to get more. Will also diversify the blood lines too.
You will just have to keep track of whos from who then cause they will be split for mottled.
Which, well can make you more milles that way too.
Glad it's another Ginger Red cockerel though.
Thanks for the breeding advicde Aubrey.
Will PM you about ordering some more eggs...going to have to get a few Black and some Ginger Red and more Porcelain and a few more Mille Fleur.if those are breeding for you now. Nine roosters need some hens in the near future.

nope Cyn,Have you guys ever seen a D'Anver with very short legs? My Lucy's legs are maybe half the height of any other D'Anver I've had. As you can tell, you can't even see her legs, only her feet. She's really precious, but quite the oddball, always has been a little "off". It's almost like she has the creeper gene, though I'm sure it's just a fluke. Isn't she adorable?

haha I knew that ones was gone be a stretchPart with Lucy? Perish the thought! Much as I'd love to help out, you might have to pry her from my cold, dead hands! I love this little munchkin. Remember how I'd call her "Wrong Way Lucy, the Ditzy Chick"? She was always going off in the wrong direction when with her broody mama or she'd stand completely vertical like a guinea keet. I wondered if she'd been dropped on her head for awhile there!
I agree, I think she is gorgeous, too, Aubrey. And her comb is exactly like Penny's, so I bet she is Penny's daughter. Aimee and Carly both have those smoother type combs and less chunky body type than Penny or Lucy.
Oh, there was trouble in paradise today between Aubrey and Aimee (the chickens, not the Webbs, LOL). I bent down at the pen with my camera and Aubrey hit the fence almost immediately. Aimee must have thought he was attacking me rather than the camera and she went on the offensive with hackles flared, jumping in his face, chasing him around the pen. He couldn't get a flog in edgewise and ended up running for his life.![]()
Tell you what, Aubrey-I'll let you know if I hatch any other short-legged D'Anvers. Maybe Lucy or her mama will throw more little munchkins.
