wow, thats a good looking boy.
Congrats JJ, I know you have been looking for a nice boy.

And just a few days ago, the pros had to tell me that my little pullet with a plump comb that I had paired with a big combed cockerel was in fact a small combed roo. Of course to add to the confusion, another pullet had laid an egg while sitting on top of their cage and the egg had dropped into the hay stuffed cage floor.
HAHA
Was thinking of just that case when I was typing what I said about the comb sexing.
That was a good case of a comb throwing the sex look off in them cause he did have a little comb. That's rose comb birds for you, they come in all shapes and sizes

Yep JJ
he'll be a good one for you to put to all those hens you got. Who's he coming from? I'm sure you have said, just couldnt remember.

I'm ready to get my reds in, Like a kid at Christmas waiting on them... so I'm right there with you being excited and all.

Got a bunch of new fall stuff in so far, but all long tails, no new d'anvers yet, well I take that back I did get some nice blues and some project buffs in a few weeks ago.

thought that was who you said.

Yes he did really good on the buff project. He talked to me a little about it before eh started this year, was pleased to see he went threw with it, and yes for just an F1 I was impressed. They are a touch big, but not by much, great color ..etc
Wont take a whole lot more work on them to have them right.
That's why I want the reds so bad, nothing much better to work on buff with than a good red.
Plan to breed them several ways though, back to the better bb reds and quails also.
But mainly the reds. Once that's done, cream will be headed into about everything haha

already getting a new spot picked out, getting too close to the well with this set of runs, gone move back 10 feet or so and start a new one I guess, the current one is already close to 200 feet long and double sided....yeah, I need more pens haha
Did get the word that it's time for the reds too, cant wait!!

Same guy the goldnecks came from in Texas, Mr O'Brien. He's working on some nice new colors too. Glad I found him, took years to find someone else doing much project work in them. Tom actually knew him and told me to contact him. Took a couple years to finally get a rio of these. He wasnt happy with them last year. Said the males are awesome but the girls are a tad light still, none of that matters to me, I can fix all that. Said type is really good though. Anyway, regardless I'll be happy with them for sure.
