cant see the male too good to critic him. They dont look too bad at all, but they dont appear to be good high end show birds either. Main factor in that is the color pattern. One pullet doesnt have enough mottling, the other is too white around the hackle, the male looks to be lacking mottling too. Now depending on age, that will change up til they are 2. So if they are this years birds. Those light mottled ones could end up perfect. Here's my 3. 1 roo, 2 hens. Had them now for a week. I was not familiar with the breed till i got home and started researching. Any input and critique is appreciated as i haven't had them long and they will only get prettier. I paid 15.00 total, judge them harshly as I would like to show them if they are worthy (best of breed would be VERY easy). How did i do?

A perfect example will have a V shaped end to the black and tipped off in white on each and every feather on them. That usually is very hard to achieve though even with the best birds.
Type wise they arent too bad either though. It's hard to judge them while being held for posture and all. Best to take pics of them standing on their own for that. You want a good V from the hackle up to the tail with little to no "back" showing. On the male the hackles should almost flow down the back to the saddles where the tail then arches back up . If that helps explain it to you a little.
Beards look great on all of them, pullet combs look good too. Cant really see the males, it may be a little short lacking the good point in the back, but cant tell.
But over all, due to the rarity of the color in d'anvers, they aint half bad. Just from what I see, I feel they'd get smoked at large sanctioned shows where you'd be competing against the heavily refined quail colors. Mottled to mottled though, they wouldnt do too bad especially if the mottling comes in a little better after their first molt
