d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Do any of you use a Brinsea Echo Brooder. I have just got mine. I read the directions and tips. Since there is only two of them at the time I only put one side on it so they could get up against it if they choose.

Edited to add: I moved the two hatched chicks they are dry and was peeping constantly. Now they are up under the low end of the brooder and curled up quiet together. The chick with the yolk hanging out has it on its foot. I will take care of that and the curled toes on the other tomorrow.

Okay I just took these. The very dark chick is out of a Silkie Egg I was testing the fertilization on. The Milli chick is the one that has the yolk stuff on it and it has gotten stuck to its leg. I got that trimmed of close to its body and then it proceded to do a belly dive in the water so its wet in these pics. It looks like it has crooked toes but I don't think they are because I didn't notice it until I was looking at the pictures. The lighter one... Is it Porcelain? My d'Uccle are much lighter than it. I taped its feet and put a hobble on because they seemed to be turning out as well.

Chick #1

...It had to get right over poo. Sorry looks a lot worse than it is.

Chick #2 see the difference in the color

I have to share this funny...

I was out feeding this evening and my Quail D'anver Roo expects his own portion of food so he can call his lady love a LF Black Australourp over to eat. I had given him a small stash and he was eating and then went on to feed and turn the others out. I had him in the garage during this cold snap because I didn't want him fighting with the LF cockerels while they were fastened in the bar. I finish up and start up the steps into the house. Here comes my Dominate BR Tom running around the front of the house like a dog was after him. I get ready to tackle said dog and Here come might Mouse him self hot on the Toms heals. evidently the tom got to close to his stash. Funniest thing ever,

Both those chicks are mille. Porcelain will be a yellowish body with lavender markings. Milles hatch in a lot of shades but your 2 are the normal preferred chick down color.
The lighter chicks generally grow up too pale

Lets talk hardiness. Not only do they play out in the snow at 22 degrees, but after looking everywhere for Crow for an hour. I finally spotted her. She had been laying her eggs in a subterranean nest that she had carved out under a snowcovered board! They weren't frozen either! I am putting them in the bator with her sisters just in case.

Doing my best to snap some pics of my D'Anver flock in too bright sunshine (yea for sunshine!). I want DH to paint Spike like he did Ladyhawk's rooster, Lancelot, and my Delaware lovebug, Isaac, but can't seem to get a great photo of him so far. You can tell from these pictures their conformation, even though Aubrey kept threatening to destroy my camera. Spike wanted to pose for me, but his dad wouldn't let him stand still for me for long.

Look at that chest on my Spikers.

The Evil Rusty2 must not like cameras, either.

My little buddy.
Hey, Karen, how many more hatched?

Okay I'm getting worried. No chicks have pipped or hatched to day. The lighter one with the bad feet and legs us laying in its belly using its wings to move around. I have tape on its feet and a piece runnin from foot to foot to try to get its legs back under it. What else do I need to do? Its been in the tape for a day. What do i do about the 10 unhatched eggs? How long do I give them? The first chick hatched Tuesday, but today is hatch day.
