d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Silly me, I hadn't thought about the breed thread here on BYC.

I order 12 d'Anvers and 6 SDW phoenix eggs from Boggy Bottom, today was lock down. They are doing fantastic!!!

Is anyone toying with partridge d'Anvers?
I am putting things in place to make silver penciled ones, to match my wife's dark brahmas. When those are done partridge will be easy, or may even get some on the way there.

Wow! Silver penciled would be so pretty!!

Was taking pictures of the LF chicks in the bantam coop and snapped this photo of most of the adults. Can you spot Wrong Way Lucy?

And Mina, whose chicks are 6 weeks old now. Actually Sissy, who was one of the other broodies is up on that roost bar in the photo.

Left to right are Circe, who has Kentucky Leg Fungus as you can see, and Guinevere. Circe is a spaz but Guin is very sweet.

For Cynthia -- Took the "Dalmatian" too a show.

Wonderful, JJ!

I think I may have a Dalmatian of my very own coming along here. What do you think? I't's a 6 week old pullet out of a Splash Rock hen with a Delaware X cockerel I recently rehomed. She's getting spottier by the week. Never had one feather out like this.

Being new to this thread the Kentucky Leg Fungus threw me off for a second, sure glad I looked at the picture before researching leg fungus.

My friend Cetawin (real name Ladyhawk, so we call her either one here) favors the feather legged kids and is in KY, hence the term Kentucky Leg Fungus, also known as KLF. My older hen, Aimee, has tiny stubs on her legs, not actual feathers, but some of her progeny develop full feathers on theirs. Circe is one of her daughters. Actually, so is Guinevere next to her, but Guin has none of the KLF. Out of the last 8 youngsters produced by Aimee, only 2 males and Circe had it.

Yes, we speak our own language on this thread. You may need a translator!
