d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Cynthia you aren't going to believe this.

What are the chances the first chick I hatch is porcelain. It also has clean legs.

Fabulous!

My own little porcelain baby here is a couple of days past 4 weeks old and I'm still thinking pullet.

My d'Anver eggs from Aubrey are hatching

So far 10 have hatched. 6 dun mottled, 2 porcelain, 1 solid dun and 1 Mille Fluer. Only one more MF egg has pipped on day 21, so that might be it for this hatch. The chicks are SO cute! Keeping my fingers crossed for porcelain pullets for my lone porcelain rooster.

Aubrey . . what colors can I expect out of the DM eggs? A couple of chicks look blue and some almost black.

Here are some of the DM and Solid dun chicks.

dun breeds like blue so you can get 3 colors from dun to dun

this pen is black mottled to dun split for mottled

so you get dun, dun mottled, black, black mottled.
and there is 1 blue hen split for mottled in it as well.
so blue mottled is possible from it.

That back chick, the light one, cant tell in the pic, its dun or blue mottled for sure though.

the one in the huddled pic standing highest on the right, it's dun mottled for sure

glad the hatch went so well for you

It is SO much fun to hatch out all those color combinations! I love this breed and can't seem to get enough of them!! I don't even want to part with a single one!
