shoot a pic this way and I'll take a look. Them and porcelain are identical other than the lack of mottleing on the lavender columbians. Split mottleds can have faint tipping too though, my lavender mottled projects are black with very faint grey tips on a lot of their feathers.

whew yall were bussy today.
Let me see if I can catch up, if I miss anyone, I'm sorry

JJ yes that's a pair.

Laura Lee, will be glad to send you some purple one HAHA

Cynthia...moderate girl....keep them dust mops off here.. Just kidding Cetawin, I had tons of silkies myself up til this summer, had to thin down the non d'anver and phoenix stuff.

202rooster
no problem for the post at all.
for the millies, yes that's a d'uccle male and old english hen. You can of course breed those together.
They will be single comb, bearded, and feather legged offspring. Both parents are single combed looks like, and feather leg and beards are dominate so they will all get those. BUT ! they will not be fat and full and heavy like on a d'uccle. Can just be subbles on the legs and a faint half beard more less. You could then take these back to the d'uccle male one more time, and they'd pretty much be decent d'uccles then just that quick. Obviously wouldnt be show quality yet, but good birds none the less.
One quick note though, IF that hen is rose combed, the babaies will mostly be rose combed birds as it is dominate over single comb birds, but she does look like a small single from what I can tell.

that ol bb red isnt looking half bad for a youngster

just went back to page 124 and looked at that girl again, she has to be lavender buff columbian, that back pattern is perfect for it. She would definately be a mottled split so that could be what you are seeing. Breed her to a porcelain and you'll get more porcelain

LOVE those porcelain hens! I NEED me some of those, but I'll jump through the hoops and get the splits, then get some porcelains out of those-got nothing but time, no rush. If I am in a real rush, I'll get Aubrey to send me more porcelain eggs, LOL.

Oh, I can't moderate this thread. Some other mod will have to do that-it would take all the fun out for me, LOL!

You are welcome to be on the thread, even if you don't yet have any D'Anvers. I was participating long before I gave Aubrey the okay to send me the hatching eggs.

As far as your little hen, now that I look at her again, I could be far off base, I suppose. I did think that OEGBs had single combs. Guess you could have a beardless D'Anver, just like you can have a beardless Ameraucana on occasion. Aubrey's input would be very welcome here.

Well, I have been looking in the "Storey's Illustrated Guide to Poultry breeds" all night. Love this book! According to the book, you are right. But now the hard part Old english or American Game. I am saying American Game because the skin around the eyes is pale not red and the comb is tiny not small. Only problem is the Americans do not come in MF according to the book and the Old english do. I will have to go to a OEGB thread. But thank you for all you help!
