Dark Brahma question

OKAY. I have been looking high and low for a year for some more dark brahma's i'd gotten a pair in a set of 10 brahma's early last year, and well my luck the hen dies at 12 weeks and the rooster was a bullie so he had to go....


i have 4 light brahma's at the moment and i want so badly to have some more Dark's but I can't find anyone with them around here in NC or near me in VA either....Are they less popular than the lights and buffs (everyone has these two colors!!!!) ??? or are they rarer?


Whats the deal!!! Its killing me i'm looking for most likely a trio a rooster and 2 hens, or a small group (half dozen) chicks...I may even be willing to get hatching eggs for a decent price.

Just let me know. i am just wondering. lol.

I spent some time this spring trying to find them too (New England.) Even finding hatching eggs was tough. They must be more rare than the other colors, but I don't know why; they are gorgeous!

I so agree! I'd seen these little 5 week old chicks last year and they were so funky looking at that age but by 16 weeks they were gorgeous, and the roosters are absolutely HUGE, I love them, and now that I really am particularly looking for them i can't find them, and can't find the guy I got them from last year, (it was at a random flea market I go to often) and man, last year they had like 30 light and 30 darks in these two large chicken crates.

I'm depressed. LOL!!!

lol Walk, you looking too? Yeah I was at the flea market, just a looking and I see this guy (this flea market is in a high farm area, abedsaviary? she lives right around there its ringgold VA) and well the guy and his nephews have these two big containers of chicks! So i ask what they are, and they're Brahmas, i've seen these and like them and I was like okay how much? the guys like "I got them out the ass, so this bunch i'm selling 1-5$ or take 4 for 15$ 10 for $30 or one container and however many chickens I got in there for 70$ and well you know I so badly wish now i would have gotten a whole lot more than i did, because OMG this was an amazing deal i find out later, and the chickens I did get, WOW they were/are beautiful birds. I only have 2 from this particular guy now, and the dark rooster i had, i have to my dad's neighbor because he was a naughty chicken. The rooster I swear when i weighed him the other week is every bit of 12 pounds and his head is above my knee and i'm 5'6. HUGE!!!!!!
