dark brown eggs

Ohhhh, I just noticed you're in TN. Welcome!

There is a lady who sells Welsummers who s very close to you, in or around Athens. She's a member here on BYC -- member name poultrylady. I have not seen her birds or eggs myself, but she is supposed to have nice stock. Do a search on her name, and you'll see some posts where she has been sellng eggs or chicks.

THanks for the posts!! Yes I am in TN. I will look up the lady in Athens. I think the Welsummers look wonderful. Thanks

I love the splotchy ones.

The color from my wellies is pretty good, but they're all solid. I just ordered some eggs from Whitmore Farm, which I noticed had some nice splotchy eggs. Crossing my fingers!

I am curious to know what the Welsummer eggs look like - I ALMOST got some?? Torn between getting some of them or some of his Ameraucana...hmm or maybe both?? Could you post a pic when you get your welsummer eggs from Will?? I am still undecided....

Will do. I specifically asked him to select splotchy ones for me, and he said he'd be happy to. So I may not get dark ones. But he also had very nice looking dark ones on his web site.

Stay Tuned.

A lot of Wellie egs are speckled, but none of mine seem to lay a speckled egg. It is strange, but ok with me too.

I am getting both but am focusing my breeding program on those that don't have the speckles. Personally, I just think they are a nicer looking egg but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

God Bless,
