I'm asking this for a friend:
The back part of a 5 year old buff orpington hen's comb is sort of purplish. Only a little bit of the comb. Chicken is acting normally. Chicken didn't respond to my friend touching it with any loud squawking or anything. When we checked her again about 10 minutes later her comb was back to normal, but when we looked at her again later the same part of it had that weird dark purplish color. Thoughts?
