I got this egg the other day from one of my French Wheaten Marans, she normally lays quite a dark egg and a bit long in shape but the distribution of pigment on this one was just lovely so I thought it worth posting on here. The photo was taken with the flash

Every couple of days but not all of them are as evenly pigmented as this one.

Photography can alter the color from the orignal egg. Helpful to have that card to compare to.

All pretty eggs though. !!

I bred my BBS Marans roos to Welsummer hens and got some pretty babies that will hopefully lay dark eggs. I got 2 blue coppers and a black copper pullet


with smuttiness. They are only 4 months old so I don't know how well they will lay or the color, but I can't wait!
