Dark Egg Breeds Thread

I finally got a nice dark egg I'm happy with from one of my young Marans girls today!

The dark one is very nice, but the super dark olive green ones are very impressive too!

Boy I need to figure out how to alter my monitor!! All the eggs above look BLACK. haahaaa Definitely need to learn a new skill. I'm missing out on the olives.

My Incubator was off for a week, so of course I now have some new ones incubating.

I forgot to post mine here Ron,
Here are some Crele penedesenca eggs I got last week. They have been in the bator 7 days and I need to candle them.
I set 15 of the crele plus 5 white empordanesa .

You might not see much inside those eggs.

They are very nice looking!

I just incubated some Marans eggs, and they gave me fits. A few we're so dark I couldn't even tell where the air sack was!

Keep in mind sometimes dark eggs take a extra day or so to hatch.

I generally do not candle the dark eggs as I have mistakenly tossed a good one. Now if it is glowing through that is usually a sign nothing is in there
