Dark Layers of WA. State.

Hi ,
I live in Enumclaw and love it here.
I have some BC chicks out of the Bev Davis line and will also be getting some Wade line chicks.
Than Im also getting a few Ameraucanas so I can have lots of color, can hardly wait.
Have a few old girls still laying sweet things.
Oh well just thought Id say Hi.

This is my first attempt at puting up pitchers soooo, I hope this works.
These are the eggs that I picked up yesterday.
The tan ones are some Cuckoo Marans that I no longer have and the white speckled ones are Eastern Wild Turkeys.

More to follow, later.
Thanks for the interest in this breed. (Black Copper Marans)

I raise BC Marans, Wheaten Marans, and Welsummers. Just found this thread and haven't read through all of it yet, but I wanted to post that I'm located in southwest Washington - in the Vancouver area.

I'll have a few chicks (very few) coming available soon - BC's and Wheatens. And I should have Welsummer hatching eggs available to order in the next month or so, if my new roo doesn't have any troubles shipping.

I am a brand new member and a brand new (about to be) chicken person--so please forgive any ignorance.

I just ordered Barnevelder eggs from this place: http://paulspoultry.freehostia.com/barnevelders.htm
Please
tell me I didn't do wrong--all this conversation about lines and hatcheries etc has me terrified. Though I'm probably just overthinking it all. I just wanted a few chickens, not to breed.

But if this is an okay line and if anyone wants any roosters (and if I can actually hatch these eggs), they're yours ...

Oh yes, I'm in south Seattle.

I would suggest doing a Search on here for "Hatcheries", "Barnevelders", and even "Welsummers". You can even reduce the results by adding me as the "Author".

From that you will find a lot of good information on the differences between hatcheries and breeders as well as on the Barnevelder Breed. In one of my posts, I included several questions that one should ask before they buy from a hatchery or breeder.

You should find all the information helpful.

God Bless,

Thanks Tailfeathers! I kind of jumped in headfirst on this one, but that list of questions will come in handy the next time. BTW, I've found many of your posts very informative.
