Dark of Night, eyes closed-"Big Jake"

From what I can see you are using way to many medications and products at the same time. All the pesticides/insecticides have also an effect on the nervous system of the chickens treated, some even accumulate in their brains. So do not overdo it.

The same goes to the overuse of random antibiotics.

The important thing is to clean out the coop completely, nests, roosts etc. and spray thoroughly. Don't forget the ceiling and the outer wass of the coop!
Instead of straw use fresh wood shavings for bedding, also in the nest boxes, and add some lavender and thyme cuttings.

Wrap double-sided adhesive tape around the roost bars just where they meet the walls. Any mites going to and fro will stick to it and thus not be able to feast on the roosting chickens at night.

EDIT: To help them recover you might want to feed scrambled eggs with oatmeal and grated carrots and brewer's yeast. And add a vitamin and mineral supplement to their drinking water for 3-4 days, refresh every day.

He was all but gone and so I gave everything I could to get any response at all. Obviously not the smartest thing ever, but it was an hour by hour thing. Aspirin was also used and Apple Cider Vinegar.
So, then at your suggestion I'm thinking of cutting off the Amoxicillin and see where he's really at. But I'm tempted to use ivermectin and am not sure the other stuff has actually killed off all bugs that might still be in him. Though I see none at all, even using a magnifying glass. I just wonder if ivermectin might be yet another 'overdo it' deal?

Please post some photos of Jake, his poop, his eyes, his legs - Thanks!

What are you feeding?
I would get a small bag of chick starter and get him eating that. Scrambled egg as a treat and cut out the corn/scratch for the time being.
You can find poultry cell at Tractor Supply get him started on that too. 1 cc per 3 pound of weight orally.

Getting rid of the mites is very important.

Check his crop to make sure it's emptying overnight.

If you are going to de-worm him, then get some Safeguard liquid goat de-wormer or Safeguard Equine Paste and give him the correct dose - .23ml per pound of weight given orally once a day for 5 days in a row.

Well, looks like 53 views but no suggestion of what to do. Disappointing here today, disappointing.
True i asked twice about my duckling have something with its eye and it got 72 viwes but no a single comment smh
Depends on when you post, not everyone is online all the time.
Sometimes posts that are more concise with information are better received as well, here's some tips about posting in the ER forums.

I hope you get replies, I finally got several (10) from some really smart poultry people. If I could help with that duck I would. But I think you just keep posting the question, a lot, and the experienced people here, eventually see it and volunteer their time to you.
Years of running a dairy farm and I'm stunned at BackYard Chickens Site and the people here.
I have seen questions here that got answered or some suggestion, that would have run at least $200.00 at any vet.
In our State, the Vet Political Action Committees, via campaign cash, tied up access to medications by laws, so the vet pac could, of course, make more money. Sort of using a law to force pet or animal owner to have to have the pet seen in the office, regardless of if it's a herd or flock, all with the same illness.
35 years ago, you went, told vet issue, they handed you something to try, because it's a crap shoot anyway and still is. Right, there's 'labs', but how many of the few remaining small farmers can go the cost of lab testing?
You should try posting your question more and I would think someone here will have mercy. These are just good people, plain and simple.

Okay, it's been scratch feed ( 3 grains) and cracked corn and he ate some watermelon one morning..
Had tips to feed scrambled eggs and he wolfed that down last night. Crowed like crazy just this morning. But eyes still shut for the most part, though he's opening them more than he has been. Consumes feed, then just seemingly falls asleep. You 'tap' under the breast, or finger under wing, lift some, then his eyes open and he eats a little more, then back to sleep.
His appetite seems relentless, if you can keep him awake. He'll eat, then duck the feed bowl, at the point he becomes full. Does this like an athlete and exhibits strength in that, but at the same time, seems weak when that's not underway. He can 'roost' balance on any edge and will climb the edge of your hand and roost there, though I've been placing him in a clean plastic box ( sprayed and lined with green hay, daily), rotating several crates. He seems 'blind', except he often hits the mark while feeding, can turn head sideways and does seem to see normal but only on occasion. When he's full, he can almost 'fight' to dodge that bowl, making the eye issue all the more puzzling.
I have chick starter and plenty of eggs for him. I'll start that chick starter right after his egg.
I still wonder if he needs that ivermectin? It's about the only thing he didn't get.
His stool is about as normal as it gets, green-white, solid.
I think he should drink more water, but wonder if the Amoxicillin in the water discourages him from that? Perhaps there's a bad taste? You know, you just guess.. does he even need an antibiotic? 4 days current Amoxicillin.
The only wormer I could get was SafeGuard livestock grain pellet wormer and had to dissolve it in water. Have no idea if it helped or if he had worms to begin with. He definitely had mites and I see none on body now, but of course, have no idea if there might be more 'inside' him.
Used vaseline some, as suggested here.
'Jake' might as well be in a hospital, intensive care unit. I'm giving him every minute I can. It's just this closed eye thing and it's very frustrating. So, if you have any further time, what do you think? I appreciate very much the kindness and care and time you gave here Wyorp Rock and several other people.
And, I'm not sure if the 'crop is emptying', or exactly how you check for that? I mean, his digestive system seems to work fine and he will eat plenty, may even be regaining weight.
I'm open to anything and thank you again.
