Dark pink eggs?

I had to come back and look at that egg again this morning it is just so beautiful! I agree that it looks more red brown than pink. Are the leaves really starting to turn where you are?

Thank you, I love it. She's already given me four in only five days.

Yes, the leaves start to drop just a few at a time around the end of August here. The trees are still green, they won't really turn for another month or so, but the leaves are already sprinkling down.

My BCM cross pullet laid her first eggs this week. As promised, here is a picture. View attachment 1892744
They did not turn out to be pink, but they are a lovely red-brown. I don't have a egg color scale card yet, but to my untrained eye, I'm seeing a 3. I am very happy with them.
Love your artistic display! (& the egg too)

Our leaves are still hanging on but the mornings are much cooler now and it won’t be long till they start coming down.

Okay, so I haven't gotten a DARK pink egg, but I have gotten a BLUSH PINK one. All three of these eggs came from the same pullet. They are her first three and very tiny (ranging from 32-36 grams). Rosemary is one of three Blue-laced Red Wyandottes I have, but I know for a fact that all of these are from her, as I have her on camera entering and leaving the nest box. The speckled one was yesterday, the one on the bottom is the one she laid today. I really hope this is the color she settles on. The photo doesn't do it justice. It is a lovely, soft, blush pink.
And even better? It comes from a hen named Rosie. :love

My SLW lays beautiful pink eggs like that as well.

What a beautiful photo! You have a lovely eye.I

Gotta love Marans. My Black Copper lays about 5 a week, color anywhere from 4-6 and getting bigger too! The shells of Marans eggs are extra hard, and the flavor is, well, truly egg-sepcional! Best French toast ever! I had no idea they sometimes laid pink, though. I will have to ask my breeder friend about it. One more reason to love Marans, as if I didn't have enough reasons already!

2 of mine are Red Mottled Marans, an experimental color, and so is my Marans rooster. I wonder what their eggs (or daughters' eggs) will be like?

My pullets have began laying. Top egg is the 1st egg from pullets of a cuckoo marans/wyandotte mix rooster x langshan hen. The bottom egg is from a cuckoo marans hen. It's pinkish-red at the top but gets as brown as a cm egg at the bottom, so I think after she is established she'll just lay a medium brown.
I have 2 of these girls so I'm anxious to see what the sister lays.
