Somebody got right offended at me today for using the word darlin

Now if you know me, you know I'm one of those people that call everyone darlin (or shug, and usually call kids sweetie). Especially if I don't know the person's name. Say I'm at a flea market, I'm liable to say something on the lines of: Hey darlin, how much is this? How much is this right here darlin?
How many of you use darlin, shug, or sweetie, and how many of you get offended by it?

I use them and people that get offended are just downright rude!! That's what's wrong with this world today!! Don't change who you are for the sour pusses in this world!!

I use terms like that a lot.
If people are offended by it, I have other things I could call them-think they'd like darlin' better.

lol It never bothers me, trust me I have been called worse... I'll take darlin' any day.

I get offended when someone younger than me uses it on me. . . .

I don't think the 18 year old at the feed store has the permission / right to call me "darlin".

Someone older than me or same age as me can use it without a problem . . .

It just seems to lack respect when it is said by someone way younger than me .

Anyone that gets offended when you're being kind to them is a jerk..plain and simple.
They are not worth your time of day,... just move on, Darlin!
