Hmmmm...sure wish they had better pics of that downspout insert on their webpage....friend wants me to help install a rainbarrel for them.

That's it aart. The 'cup' is open in the middle, so if barrels are full, it just backs up into the downspout and down the middle. The top barrel has been through quite a few cycles with no issues. The two barrels connected have not. I got my kit for around $23, with three hole saw blades and the plastic spigot.

I plan to put fence pickets around the stand and paint to match my fence.

And yes, the cup is flexible, so you can fold to put in the hole. They have a good YouTube video how to.

Went through the first week of rainstorms and no leaks!! The bottom barrel is peaked out and the top one is at 1/4. If I was using this for a soaker hose, I might raise it up a bit. The flow/pressure is not that great with the current water level. However, I expect the top one to stay at about 1/2 full most of the time. Again, I'm impressed with this setup!

The head pressure thing is tricky I would think, have no hands on experience, timing of use and distribution.....SHM, the variables are numerous.
