You must read the label on all brands. It must say American Cheese. Not American Cheese food or similar. All those are rubbery as the one that is on a fast food cheeseburger. It should never be individual slices wrapped. That is a dead give away it's not the real McCoy. I'll Use Kraft, Borden, And even Kroger Store Brand and get good cheese. It took a while to get my wife trained to read the label and the fine print. Cheese from the deli that they slice is is hard American but costs more than I want to pay. Years ago we lived in MO and bought 5 lb packages at a time of Mid America dairies American. It was some of the best we have ever had. Locally produced with out the hype of national advertisement to pay for. I'll use any brand anywhere once if the label is right. Then if it is bad I know they are cheating and not selling the real stuff.

I'm home alone left to my own devices when I have to feed myself. I need to start plundering the fridge and cupboards. I really think the rest of the new loaf of cinnamon raisin bread is going to be for lunch. I started on it yesterday evening. Need a bread machine that will make a full two lb loaf.

It's all sharp cheeses like cheddar that if disgusting to me and I refuse to eat. Same goes for those softy curdled cottage type cheeses. Munster and Provolone are good along with pizza cheese but that is it.

I love cheddar and American and that’s basically it. Hate Brie etc lol
