My dad is going to drive me. It’s only a few minutes from the club so I’ll go to the club in the morning and probably get lunch then he’ll load Brew up and come pick me up in the afternoon, we’ll go to the appointment, then I’ll go back to the club afterwards while he and Brew go home. The appointment is at 1:30 so it’s perfect. Only thing is I’m really nervous of how he’s going to act because he loves other dogs soooo much he goes bat 💩 crazy if he sees them 😬😬😬🤣 thankfully it’s a tiny practice and a weekday midday so hopefully will be fine.
Omg.. we had to take Mason to the vet Saturday. Long story but something had happened to his tail and he hadn't been able to move it for 3 days.
More on that later..

My old timer vet has loose cats and a dog if his own that is loose in the office.
Plus there was about 3 people in there ahead of us holding little fluff ball cat-dogs. I thought we were really gonna be in trouble.. But at least there weren't actual cats out when we first got there.
He let loose with a couple Baroooos in there and scared the livin outta those cat dogs and their owners.. But he managed to somewhat keep it together and the vet took us back so we were able to get him out of view of the cat dogs.

Getting him up up on that table was an ordeal. He weighs 94lbs!
Thank goodness the Man drove us. He manhandled his big butt up there.
Then.. speaking of butts... doc stuck his finger up there then the thermometer.

Masons eyes were big as saucers. Then he made the lowest gutteral growl i have never heard out of him.
I thought Jeeesus H.. is he gonna snap?!
So I started telling him what a good boy he was and he relaxed. But that was tense. For all of us.

THEN.. doc gets a phone call on his cell and takes it 😆 which is nice he does that for folks but here we are with Mason on this slick table getting impatient and kinda scared anyway and then.. he sees a freaking cat.

Lets out another warhoop..
Good thing again there was 2 of us to keep him from launching off that table.

So doc got off the phone. Gave him a shot. Prescribed anti inflammatory pain meds and some DSMO.

We go out and are waiting to pay amd he was being good, then here comes those cats again. Mason was about to cut loose and i knew it.
So I tell J, you pay I'm getting him out of here.

We ALMOST made it out the door.
A ladies cat dog went to yipping like it was being killed as we walked by them and i swear it was all i could do to keep him from getting in her lap. That dog was about to climb up on her head 🤣
That could have been a disaster.

I have failed my dog at reactivity training. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but he's gonna raise hell and yank me all over the place if he wants to get at something. 🤪

Anyhoo..
Doc said he had trauma to his tail. But we never saw anything happen and could not figure out how he got hurt that bad without us knowing.
Well. I have figured it out after the reenactment he pulled.

He got on the freaking patio table and layed down on it cause it was warm and sunny there. . And why would a hound lay in the grass when there's a perfectly good table there to lay on.

When he went to get down he used the chair.
Chair tipped forward and he barely escaped before his big butt slammed into the edge of the table.

I wondered why those chairs kept getting tipped over but i assumed the wind did it.

Now i think he has been doing that when we aren't looking. He either caught his tail on the way down or rammed his back end so hard it made the whole thing swell. I knew he sat in the chairs. He's always done that. But i never thought of THAT happening.

Oh LORT lmaoooo I’m sorry but this post is so relatable because that would be Brewster 🤣😭 he hates the butt thermometer! And CATS!! Luckily ours doesn’t have loose animals. Brew would lose his 💩 lol also… yours puts big dogs on the TABLE!?!?!? Ours just examines them on the floor lol only the cats and little dogs go up on the table. I have also failed on his reactivity training. We really need to work on it. He goes BANANAS over so much 😭🤣😬🙈

Oh wow! He’s silly lol hope he feels better soon

Cat dogs are real?
I thought they were just make believe cartoon characters.

Good news for them.... no place to probe.
