That’s terrible!! I just got the shake on stuff. I almost got the mix with water kind but that seemed like a huge pain plus I didn’t know if it would be the right amount or whatever lol
The mix with water kind is easy, but then you use a watering can to water and it sucks for a large garden. Better for individual plants.

What’s some big huge tomatoes? Preferably for like a sandwich. Everything I’m reading is saying beefsteak is the biggest but I thought I bought beefsteak seeds and the ones that are starting to ripen so far seem like so runty LOL idk if it’s just poor quality stock orrrr? These MIGHT be the Dollar Tree seeds, I don’t remember. But either way, I’m just kind of disappointed. I thought we would be getting these MASSIVE tomatoes. Hopefully they will at least taste good so it won’t be a total loss. :fl and we have TONS of them so we can always use two on a sandwich if it was necessary but still. I want big huge tomatoes that also taste good.

There are literally thousands of tomato varieties, and more are added every year. Beef steak is supposed to be bigger, but sometimes bigger tomato varieties don't live up to their potential. Situations have to be just right.

You do have to sometimes control growth and pinch off some of the fruiting branches so the plant puts more energy into less tomatoes. I also remove some of the extra green leaves.

Bigger tomatoes are nice, but sometimes they crack easy.

I like Aunt Ruby's German green tomatoes. All the other varieties I've tried I wasn't a fan of. Everyone likes something different in tomatoes as far as taste.

@bill3607 do you know the answer to the above question???? ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️
Yea, beefsteak is one. There are a quite a few like that. Pink Brandy Wine is a good Heirloom one that gets really big. Parks Whopper is another hybrid. There are some other really big ones. But most of them will grow big enough ones to cover a slice of bread if they grow well. I mean Better Boy, Bush Goliath, even Celebrity, Early Girl, etc... are not huge huge, but big enough to pretty much cover a slice of bread if in good soil, fertilized and a good growing season.

I love to grow different heirlooms, and a lot of them grow really large. But, the thing with heirloom versus hybrid is they usually don't produce as abundantly, and are not as disease and insect tolerant. So, I grow some of both. The hybrids so I know I have plenty to eat and give away, and the heirloom are icing on the cake.
