(Day 1) 29-Day Giving Challenge - A place for sharing.

A wish for you is my gift for the day.

“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.” Anonymous

I took a dozen eggs to work and left them in the office for whomever wanted them. I bought pizza and goodies for my class for no reason. I gave Steven the truck to use for a date and $20 for gas. I let two people go in front of me at Wal Mart because I had a full buggy and the each had one or two items. I saw with someone at the Moose Lodge for dinner who had no one to eat with and I didn't recognize, I think they are new. I sent a Secret Valentine to a student at school because she is so quiet and shy no one notices her. I bought my parents dinner, and there were a few more opportunities I took advantage of today to give or help out. I'm realizing these are things I do regularly, so I need to find something I don't normally do.

I gave my Grandpa a TV.

He is 88 1/2...at this age, the halves count

, and recently had to go into a Nursing Home. He wont be coming home again... I will not cry. I will not cry... I was talking to Gram yesterday and she mentioned that she needed to get him a TV but she had to have his phone hooked up this week so she would have to wait til next month on the TV. So, after we got off the phone, I texted my sis and asked her if she wanted to go halves. She said yes and I ordered him a 26 in flatscreen to be delivered directly to him at the facility. Called my cousin's hubby and asked him if he would install it when it came, he agreed.

So sis and cousin-in-law (?) get some credit here too.

Called Gram back and told her not to look for a TV. She of course stressed out and started sputtering something about that she didnt mean for me to go out and get him a TV. Silly Gram.

I told we didnt do it cause we had to, we wanted to and sis and I both live in different states and cant help out the way some of the other grandchildren do with the day-to-day things so this was the best we could do and it isnt really that much when you compare what the others do on a daily basis....mowing, plowing, car repair, visiting with Grandpa, running Gram to see him when the roads are cruddy...I will not cry. I will not cry...

I just wish I could see the look on his face when he gets it. He hasnt had a new TV in 25 years. They still have one of the old on the floor console (?) TV's. I hope he is as excited to get it as we were to give it!

Giving is such a great feeling!
May you all be blessed today with opportunities of sharing.
*hugs*

I don't mean from you all, I just mean in general. It has been a "the gods are against me" week, Murphys Law was in full effect. I guess I am just bummin.

I did give a bottle of rhubarb wine to the man that gave me the rhubarb. I held the door for a few older folks. I just don't remember when. The days just blended together. Today is a nice day, maybe a walk to the library will help. I wish I would just mense already.

SO I dragged myself out of the hole I was in, kicked everyone out of the house and made chocolate covered peanut butter balls for DH. Both girls are at sleepovers. I think a nice dinner and a good bottle of wine is in order.

Rainplace and Camelot- Thanks
