I have 3 polish chicken eggs set to hatch the 3rd of June. I candled them last night and the chicks don't even look close to being Day 18. I candled from the bottom first and you can clearly see the bottom is mostly full of chick, but when I candled upwards along the egg, the top half seems to be towards the 'dancing' stage. Clear veins and 'dancing' bits of embryo flickering around in reaction to the light. My temps have been very level this time, but these guys were towards the edge of the bator instead of the center, so it's possible they got less heat.
The thing is, I'm supposed to (by normal standards) take these guys and put them on lockdown tomorrow. If they are going slow because of a possible heat difference, should I wait an extra day or two? Is it possible for chicks to stop developing but remain alive?
